This year’s theme is “COVID 19 and Its Aftermath: Roadmap for Navigating the Post-Pandemic World Order” and Forum will feature Paul Krugman, who is distinguished professor in the Graduate Center Economics Ph.D. program at the City University of New York as well as the winner of the 2008 Nobel Prize in Economic Sciences.

The Forum is also proud to be featuring world-famous economist Ha-Joon Chang, who is professor of economics at the University of Cambridge. We also have Thomas Frey who is among the world’s premier futurists and Executive Director of The DaVinci Institute.

The Forum will also feature a number of outstanding presenters who have most graciously decided to participate in our endeavor. Nathan Wolfe is a world renown virologist and author of the highly regarded book, The Viral Storm and Britt Wray is science storyteller, broadcaster, and author who has researched the correlation between climate change and mental health.

These presentations will be followed by talks from Robert Koopman, Chief Economist at the World Trade Organization, Gang Fan, President of the China Development Institute as well as Director of the National Economic Research Institute, and Motoshige Itoh, professor of international social sciences at Gakushuin University and architect of Abe-nomics under Prime Minister Shinzo Abe. Their discussion will center upon how the countries of the United States, China, and Japan, amongst others, would seek solutions and coexistence in the new coming era.

Finally, the panel discussion towards the end of the day will feature Executive Director Frey, Dr. Koopman, President Fan, and Professor Itoh discussing the highs and lows of the COVID19 era alongside new models for development for the future.

Tomorrow’s India 조직 대한민국에서의 100억달러 기회들과 연계

싱가폴에서의 성공적인 데뷰 이후 “Tomorrow’s India 글로벌 대회”는 인도와 한국간의 사업, 교육, 문화 등 분야에서의 국제적 협업과 제휴의 개발에 중점을 둘 계획이다.

오는 9월 26-28일에 걸쳐 Tomorrow’s India 조직의 글로벌 대회가 서울, 인천(송도), 경기에서 개최될 예정이다. 매년 두 차례에 걸쳐 열리는 글로벌 대회는 뉴델리에 위치한 비영리기관인 Global Social (India) Foundation의 기획 아래 이루어진다. 본 대회는 인도의 역량을 전 세계에 알리는 것을 목표로 삼고 있으며 기업가, 지식인, 그리고 문화계 인사들 간 연계의 촉매 역할을 역임하고자 한다. 이번 대회에서는 여러 주제에 관한 패널 세션과 기업 소개 및 한국의 기업과 대학의 견학을 포함한 여러 개의 네트워킹 기회들이 예정되어 있다.

Tomorrow’s India의 설립자이자 대표이사 HP Singh 씨는 “인도와 한국은 같은 광복절 날짜를 공유하기도 하고 고대적부터의 역사적인 관계를 가져온 한편 지난 20여년동안 기업간의 관계도 돈독히 쌓아올려 현재 현대, 엘지, 삼성, 롯데, 금호 등 유수 브랜드를 포함하여 약 600개의 한국 기업이 인도에 진출해있다. 이러한 현실을 바탕으로 인도의 기업들 또한 자국의 100억달러 규모에 달하는 인프라, 스마트시티, 철도, 전력공급, 및 기타 다양한 사업분야에 참여할 한국기업들과 새로운 관계를 형성해야 할 시기이다.

인도는 Narendra Modi 수상의 지도 아래 한국과 일곱개의 양자 협정을 맺은 상태이다. 인도와 한국은 양국간의 관계를 이미 특별전략적협력 수준으로 격상시켰고 이로 인해 전자기기, 철강, 제조, 해운, 그리고 R&D 분야에서의 기회들이 넓혀질 양상이다. 양국은 또한 사업의 원활한 진행을 위해 조세제도를 개선하여 항만통과가 신속하게 이루어지게끔 조정했다.

Global Social (India) Foundation의 대표이사인 Yogesh Chopra씨에 의하면 “다음 달 인도와 한국은 양국간의 Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA)를 다음 차원으로 격상시키기 위해 협상을 재개하게 되는데 이로 인해 교육분야에서의 기회들 또한 생성될 예정이다. 현재 인도에는 약 300명의 한국 학생들이 있는데 이는 중국에 있는 30,000명과 대조된다. 양국은 또한 이미 영화제작 음향/영상 부문에서의 공동제작을 비롯하여 에니메이션과 방송 프로그램과 연관된 협력 협정에 서명한 상태다.”

올해 초 개최되었던 Tomorrow’s India의 싱가폴 대회에는 약350명의 사업가들이 싱가폴, 호주, 한국, 일본 등지에서 모여 100명의 인도 사업가들과 같이 시간을 보냈다. 싱가폴 대회때 참석한 주요인사들로는 주싱가폴 인도판무관 H.E. Ms. Vijay Thakur Singh; 싱가폴 정부 특사 Gopinath Pillai 대사, 싱가폴국립대학 동남아연구소 회장, 아폴로 그룹의 Suneeta Reddy, Thyrocare의 A Velumani, 아쇼카대학의 Pramath Sinha, 그리고 인도의 유명 광고감독 Prahlad Kakkar 등이 참석하였고, 파트너기관으로는 Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB), Singapore Exhibition & Convention Bureau (SECB), Singapore Tourism Board (STB), Global Cultural Alliance (GCA), India Retail Forum (IRF) 등이 참석했다.

싱가폴대회에는 또한 스타트업과 젊은 기업가들에게 싱가폴정부에서 제공하는 특별플랫폼이 선보였고, 이를 답습하기 위해 Action Community for Entrepreneurship (ACE), Nanyang Technical University, National University of Singapore and Temasek Polytechnic 등에서 참석했다. 인도측에서는 JK Business School, Amity University, University of Delhi, Mumbai University, Vivekananda Institute of Professional Studies, Lovely Professional University, IBS Business School, Pearl Academy – Design College, School of Planning and Architecture and Galgotias University 등의 대학에서 참석했다.

Frank (1822~1890) 프랑크가 바이올리니스트 이자이(E. Ysaye, 1858~1931)의 결혼을 축하하며 그에게 헌정한 곡으로 진한 서정성과 우아한 아름다움을 동시에 갖고 있는 곡이다.
Pablo de Sarasate (1844~1908) 스페인 작곡가이자 바이올리니스트 사라사테의 스페인 무곡으로서, 변전하는 빠른 조와 절묘한 정취는 남국의 여자가 색채도 짙은 케이프를 펄럭이면서 춤추는 모습을 연상케 한다.

Mozart Requiem and Piano Concerto No. 20 with Ryan Goessl conducting the Camarata Chorale and pianist Andreas Ehret will take place on 7 May 2016 at Chungdong First Methodist Church in Seoul Korea.

The Requiem Mass in D minor (K. 626) by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was composed in Vienna in 1791 and left unfinished at the composer’s death on December 5. A completion dated 1792 by Franz Xaver Süssmayr was delivered to Count Franz von Walsegg, who had anonymously commissioned the piece for a Requiem Mass to commemorate the February 14 anniversary of his wife’s death.

The autograph manuscript (acquired by the Austrian National Library in 1831–38) shows the finished and orchestrated Introit in Mozart’s hand, as well as detailed drafts of the Kyrie and the sequence Dies Irae as far as the first eight bars of the “Lacrymosa” movement, and the Offertory. It cannot be shown to what extent Süssmayr may have depended on now lost “scraps of paper” for the remainder; he later claimed the Sanctus and Agnus Dei as his own. Walsegg probably intended to pass the Requiem off as his own composition, as he is known to have done with other works. This plan was frustrated by a public benefit performance for Mozart’s widow Constanze. Constanze was responsible for a number of stories surrounding the composition of the work, including the claims that Mozart received the commission from a mysterious messenger who did not reveal the commissioner’s identity, and that Mozart came to believe that he was writing the requiem for his own funeral.

At the time of Mozart’s death on 5 December 1791, only the opening movement (Requiem aeternam) was completed in all of the orchestral and vocal parts. The following Kyrie and most of the sequence (from Dies Irae to Confutatis) were complete only in the vocal parts and the continuo (the figured organ bass), though occasionally some of the prominent orchestral parts were briefly indicated, such as the first violin part of the Rex tremendae and Confutatis and the musical bridges in the Recordare. The sixth movement of the sequence, the Lacrymosa, breaks off after only eight bars and was unfinished. The following two movements of the Offertorium were again partially done; the Domine Jesu Christe in the vocal parts and continuo (up until the fugue, which contains some indications of the violin part) and the Hostias in the vocal parts only.

Its opening ceremony will take place on March 14, 2016 at 2pm at the same venue. This exhibition is co-hosted by the National Election Commission and the National Museum of Contemporary History.
